Instructions
Cut Newspaper
Cut newspaper into strips 4-6" wide and about 12-15" long.
Shape Pots
Stack two or three strips of newspaper together. Wrap them around the outside of the can, leaving 2 inches of overhang at the bottom. Fold the overhanging paper inward, pressing it against the bottom of the can. Press the can down on a flat surface to crease the bottom and help hold the shape. Remove the can.
They will keep their shape once you fill these with seed starting mix.
To plant with these pots, loosen the paper around the seedling and plant the entire thing in the garden. The newspaper will decompose in place.
Alpha Craft
Every craft begins as an alpha craft. Crafts are developed by considering the function and effect of inputs and all the actions needed to create the transformation. They are designed with theory and research but have not been personally tested by any Guild Craft Trade employee or member. When you perform a craft at this stage, it is through your own experimentation (and risk, if there is any).
This designation is part of our mission to build a chain of production for cottage industry. To learn more see our About page.
